Grapes

  • Baco Noir – Dark skinned, hybrid grape produces deeply colored red wines, intense fruit flavor, high acidity.
  • Cabernet Franc – French red wine grape, medium sized vine, small blue to black grapes, red fruit flavors with herbaceous accents.
  • Cabernet Sauvignon – Red wine grape, flavors of dark fruit, herbs, spices and earth, firm texture fruit, used for dry red wines.
  • Chambourcin – Hybrid grape, very resistant to fungal diseases, yields spicy fragrant red wines, pink to red juice.
  • Chardonnay – High quality white grape, exquisite flavor, diverse spectrum for wines, green skinned, grows in a range od soils and climates.
  • Chenin Blanc – White grape, considered an ancient grape, adaptable in wines from dry to sparkling to sweet to still.
  • Gamay – Bright fruit flavor, purple-colored grapes, very old cultivar, medium bodied wines, vigorous vine.
  • L’acadie – Complex hybrid, very cold hardy, very productive, high yielding, early to mid ripening, unique pale yellow color,  tight clusters.
  • Malbec – Purple grape, inky dark color, great for a variety of soils, intense flavors.
  • Merlot – Flavors of plums, summer fruit, vanilla and spice, dark blue in color, used for blending or on its own, soft and easy texture.
  • Pinot Gris – White wine grape, pinkish to gray hue can vary to blue gray, adaptable to climate, moderately vigorous.
  • Pinot Noir – Tight clustered, blackish berries, medium sized vines, round shaped.
  • Regent – Hybrid grape, dark skinned, grape can be eaten fresh or used for wine, resistant against downy mildew, nice fall colors of leaves.
  • Riesling – White wine grape, used to make dry to sparking wines depending on soil, small round shape, stone fruit flavors.
  • Rondinella – Italian red grape, neutral flavor, ruby red color, grown heavily in Veneto region in northern Italy.
  • Sauvignon Blanc – Green skinned grape, grassy aroma, light colored white dry wine, vigorous.
  • Semillon – Golden skinned grape, commonly used for blends, vigorous vines, high yields, thin skin, can be used for sweet wines.
  • Syrah (Shiraz) – Dark skinned, robust and flavorful wines, adapts to various climates.
  • Vidal – Hybrid grape, green color, round shape, best known for ice wines, very cold hardy, high natural acidity and sugar levels, high yield potential,  makes dry to sweet wine.
  • Viognier – Deep yellow color, produces white grape juice that is noticeably higher in alcohol, notes of pear, peach, and violet flavors
  • Canadice – Seedless red grape, offers sweet and spicy flavor, late season cultivar, used for jams and jellies, edible off the vine.
  • Himrod – Seedless, sweet, ripening quickly, small clusters, early season fruit, golden yellow when ripe.

  • Sovereign Coronation – Hybrid table grape, vibrant blue purple color, hardy, most productive in relatively cool climates, eaten fresh picked or frozen without loss of flavor.
